At first, I felt so lucky to be sent by my employer in Cebu in order to attend a supervisory seminar. It’s not common in a government bank under austerity measure to send an employee in as far as Cebu simply to be trained.
It was not my first time to go there but I was all by myself. I was quiet nervous then and feeling so lonely on a 5:00am PAL flight to catch the session at 8:00am. The three-day seminar conducted by Convergent Consulting was held in Holiday Plaza Hotel.
After a very good rest, I felt so energized the next morning that I woke up. In the afternoon, I decided to visit the Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino and the Ayala Entertainment Center. I noticed that taxicabs were widely available. I intuited I was only in Manila as there were a lot people in the streets and the mall.
(Right at this moment, I am being shocked by the breaking news about the bomb or LPG gas explosion in Glorietta 2. It came to my mind that this might be another none sense and very tragic strategy of the Malacanang to divert the attention of the Filipino people from the latest scandal of the Arroyo Adminsitration.)
